Under the hood

How Ask GodGom uses Claude

What the app actually does, nothing more.

Claude API through a Worker

Your question goes to a small Cloudflare Worker on kgodgom.com, which calls the Claude API (Anthropic's official SDK, model Claude Opus 5.5). The API key lives only as a server secret and is never sent to your browser.

Streaming answers

Answers are streamed, so text appears as Claude writes it. If you close the page, generation is cancelled.

Prompt caching

Each request carries the same fixed instructions: GodGom's persona plus a knowledge pack drawn from official Korean sources, each section with an "as of" date. That block is marked for prompt caching, so repeated requests read it from cache.

Five languages

Suggested questions come in English, Spanish, Indonesian, Thai and Japanese. GodGom replies in the language you write in, with a short Korean phrase when it helps.

Emergency information

If you mention danger, injury or an emergency, the instructions tell Claude to start with 112 (police), 119 (fire and ambulance) and 1330 (Korea Travel Hotline, interpretation). The app also shows these numbers permanently.

No sign-up, rate limits

No account is needed. To prevent abuse, each visitor is limited to 5 chat requests per 60 seconds (per Cloudflare location) plus a best-effort 20 per 10 minutes. A request holds at most 12 messages of 1,000 characters.

No chat storage

We do not store conversations. Server logs keep only token counts, status codes and request IDs. Your messages are processed by Anthropic to produce the answer. See Privacy.

Limits of the tool

No web browsing, no tools, no bookings and no live data. If it is unsure it says so and points to an official source. Answers can still be wrong.

You can check that the live Claude connection is configured at /api/health. Built by the founder with Claude Code. More on the About page.

What's a GodGom?

The name has two meanings, plus one bear. Tap the cards.

곰 gom Bear. An Asiatic black bear (반달가슴곰), to be precise. Ours just came in honey.
갓곰 GodGom A god-tier bear in a gat. Hi.

The 100-day challenge

In Korea's founding myth, a bear is told to eat only mugwort and garlic and stay out of the sun for 100 days to become human. (In the oldest telling, she made it in just 21.) GodGom is going the full 100. Help him finish it.
